Yeat - Split

The rapper known as Yeat was born Noah Oliver Smith on February 26, 2000, in Irvine, California. Like many of his contemporaries, he developed a substantial following on social media before even signing a recording contract with a major label. He moved to Portland, Oregon, during his teenage years and began releasing music under the name Lil Yeat in 2015. Following a subsequent move to New York City, the young MC made his official debut in 2018 with the single “Br!nk,” premiered through the video-streaming channel Elevator. That same year, Yeat delivered his first mixtape Deep Blue Strips. In the subsequent years, he continued to release music at a prolific rate, releasing three mixtapes in 2019 and two EPs in 2020. Only a year later, Yeat made headlines when his track “Gët Busy” went viral on social media platforms and was championed by high-profile rappers such as Drake and Lil Yachty. This success was followed by the release of his highly anticipated studio debut Up 2 Më (2021), which debuted at Number 183 on the US pop charts. Preceded by the single "Still Countin," his sophomore effort 2 Alive fared even better, reaching Number 6 on the Billboard 200 and sellling around 36,000 units. Lyfe, his sixth extended play, saw the light in September of that year. Featuring guest spots by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Yeat's alter egos Kranky Kranky and Luh Geeky, his 2023 third full-length titled Afterlyfe topped the rap charts in the US and cracked the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.
