Normani Kordei Hamilton is an American R&B singer-songwriter born in Atlanta and raised in Houston. She sang in church as a child and in 2012 auditioned for the American television talent show 'The X Factor' where she became a member of the all-girl group Fifth Harmony, finishing third on the show. Fifth Harmony had hit recordings around the world but announced an indefinite hiatus in March 2018 so that members could pursue solo ventures. Normani's 2018 single 'Love Lies' with Khalid topped Billboard's Mainstream Top 40, went to number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. 'Waves' featuring 6LACK peaked at number 19 on the Hot R&B Songs Chart in 2018, 'Slow Down' with Calvin Harris reached number 37 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart in the same year, and her 2019 release 'Dancing With a Stranger' with Sam Smith reached number three in the UK, number 14 on the Mainstream Chart, number 15 on the Adult R&B Songs Chart and number 25 on the Hot 100. Her first album was released in 2019.
