Baby Keem

Hykeem Jamaal Carter, Jr. – AKA Baby Keem – was born in Carson, California on October 22, 2000. This rapper, songwriter and producer made his first high-profile appearance as a writer and producer on a track featured on his cousin Kendrick Lamar’s 2018 musical project Black Panther: The Album. He produced two tracks - “Knock It Off” and “Rotation 112th” - for Jay Rock’s 2018 album Redemption. Baby Keem then released his digital EP No Name in May, 2018, followed two months later by his next digital EP release, Hearts & Darts. In October of the same year, Keem released his first full-length mix tape entitled The Sound Of a Bad Habit. In April of 2019, rapper Schoolboy Q released his Crash Talk album featuring two tracks co-produced by Baby Keem: “Numb Numb Juice” and “Lies” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign and YG). In July 2019, Keem co-produced the track “Nile” (featuring Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar) from The Lion King: The Gift, a musical companion album to the 2019 remake of The Lion King. That same month, Keem released his second digital mixtape, Die For My Bitch, which featured the hit single “Orange Soda” (Number 98 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart). In 2021, Baby Keem issued the charting singles “Durag Activity” (with Travis Scott) and “Family Ties” (with Kendrick Lamar) before issuing his debut solo album The Melodic Blue. He also made a guest appearance on “Praise God” from Kanye West’s 2021 album Donda.
