The red carpet at the , which are currently underway in New Jersey tonight, is a place to dress as flamboyantly as possible. The iconic music awards ceremony has delivered some wild fashion moments over the years. Just take Lady Gagaâ€™s meat dress in 2010, or Lil Kimâ€™s purple nipple pasty in 1999. The bolder the fashion statementâ€”the better! Tonight, rapper Cardi B certainly kept this fashion mood alive with her own red carpet ensemble: The star chose a sculptural gown that was made out of hundreds of silver hair clips. Who designed such an avant-garde creation? Turkish-British designer Dilara Findikoglu, who pasted many, many silver clips together in a cohesive pattern. (It was on Findikogluâ€™s fall 2023 runway as a mini dress; Cardiâ€™s was likely custom.) To show complete dedication to the designerâ€™s vision, Cardiâ€”whoâ€™s performing her track â€œBongosâ€ with Megan Thee Stallion this eveningâ€”even wore two arm cuffs with even more hair clips (though, funnily enough, she didnâ€™t don any on her head).
