According to a report from HotNewHipHop on Thursday (June 23), the Brambleton lyricist spoke about his new chart-topping project he explained why he thinks K. Dots Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers was the closest runner-up to his hallmark Its Almost Dry LP. I think he made a strong album, Pusha T said. I think his album is definitely a conversation piece, for sure. I think that Kendrick does what he does lyrically. I think it was impressive, for sure. I think its great competition. He continued, remarking on how his overall intentions for his project inherently afford it a different type of aura.Its a matter of what you want to hear, he said in part. I feel like for what it is that I do and what I was going for, and like I said, this is rap album of the year to me. Its Almost Dry. That is the mood and that is the energy. I think I put out that type of energy. Pusha T went on to say he believes it all comes down to a matter of preference, but Hip Hop fans are guaranteed to receive high-level lyricism anytime artists such as himself and Kendrick Lamar drop. Im just talking about in a sense of being like really good rappers , fundamentally good rappers, he said. You know that from those two artists you are getting the truth. Thats it. People know that they are getting quality. You know that you are getting taste. You know that you are getting well-thought-out compositions. I havent heard anybody say that they hated my album or his album. I feel like youre gonna like both, for sure. But its just a matter of what you are feeling and what mood you prefer to be in. Several major artists have put in their two cents for the album of the year debate in the weeks following the releases of both Kendrick Lamar and Pusha Ts albums. During his second May 30, 2022 Pharrell Williams, who produced Mr. Morale for Kendricks project and several records for Pusha Ts album, including Let The Smokers Shine The Coupes, also gave his opinion on the clear-cut winner of the rap album of the year title last month during King Pushs sold out L.A. show apart of the Its Almost Dry Tour.
