Lil Nas X turned many heads when he came out as gayaround the time his smash single Old Town Roaddominated the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019. Homosexuality is still a relatively taboo topic in Hip Hop culture and with that comes people who either criticize Lil Nas X or just dont understand him. During a recent interview with XXL MONTERO rapper spoke on his stance on Hip Hop and how he feels the culture doesnt fully respect him or his art. According to Lil Nas X, however, hes a part of the culture whether people like it or not. Honestly, I dont feel as respected in hip-hop or many music places in general, he said. But these are communities that I am a part of, whether people would like it or not. This is something that I wanted to do because, not that my entire album is rap, but there are rap tracks on my album. I am a rapper. I am a pop star. I am a gay artist. But its like, I belong in these places, you know?
