At stake is a date with USC in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Drake has been playing shorthanded recently, with leading scorer ShanQuan Hemphill and point guard Roman Penn missing in March. Hemphill, however, is expected to play for the first time since Feb. 10. On top of being the teams top point producer, Hemphill had pulled in at least nine rebounds in four or the past five games in which he has appeared. This is bad news for a Wichita State team that ranks 255th in the nation in rebound rate and has just one player with more than five per game. Just one of Wichita States top eight scorers is shooting above 43 percent from the floor, while all of Drakes top six scorers make at least 43 percent of their shots for an offense that ranks six in the country in points scored on a per-possession basis and 10th in fewest turnovers per game. Drake has been a bankroll builder for bettors this season, having the second-best cover rate at 20-6-1. The Bulldogs should continue to yield a profit on Thursday. The play: Drake, -2.
