Share Even when theyre not together they still are ones to watch with #YungMiamislaying fits on the daily to #JTriding ATVs with her rapper boyfriend Lil Uzi Vert. Both of the girls recognize that it took a lot for them to make it here and often will reflect back on those times before they made it. While some fans may have been with the City Girls from day one following their entire trajectory into Hip Hops mainstream, others were put on to them when their smash hit Act Up commanded airwaves back in 2018. Since then, periods the word and the skys the limit for the Dade-County representatives. The City Girls have reflected about this trajectory numerous times in various interviews. Back in April, the duo spoke to another female rapper from the south that had a meteoric rise, Megan Thee Stallion for Interview Mag about their so-called hood days and the things they experienced during their rise to fame. Now the City Girls are discussing their come-up again in a more recent interview on The Carlos Watson Show. In the interview the girls discuss the moment when they knew they made it. In the interview Yung Miami, with JT in agreement, says the moment that they knew their careers had taken off was when rap superstar Drake gave them a call to feature on his 2018 track In My Feelings. JT reflected on her thoughts at the time of the call, expressing that Growing up, had always been a Drake fan. Miami also added that she was mystified how Drake even knew them and his call made her realize that people were actually paying attention to them. The girls did add that originally they were supposed to receive entire verses on the track but those verses were cut down to just shout outs. Despite Drake quote chopping them as Yung Miami put it, the two were still extremely grateful for the experience, especially because at first the song was unsure to even appear on the album at all. How do you feel about the City Girls feature on In My Feelings? Do you wish their full verses were kept on there or was it the right thing for Drake to chop it?
